This three-row SUV, positioned above the Pathfinder crossover, retains its truck-based nature with a robust V8 engine and body-on-frame construction. Seating seven or eight passengers, it offers ample cargo space when the rear seats are folded. If you seek a traditional, spacious SUV, the Armada presents a compelling choice.
What’s New for 2024?
Apart from Nissan’s decision to discontinue the entry-level S trim, there are no significant alterations to the 2024 Armada. The model underwent a redesign in 2017 and received its latest substantial update in 2021.
2024 Nissan Armada Models and Pricing
Although crossover SUVs based on cars might offer similar space, they can’t match the towing ability of a truck-based SUV. The Nissan Armada excels in this aspect, delivering a maximum towing capability of 8,500 pounds for both rear-wheel and four-wheel-drive versions. Powered by a strong V8 engine, the Armada easily manages pulling tasks, whether it’s towing a boat or a trailer for recreational vehicles. Additionally, starting from the SV trim level and above, the Armada includes a standard trailer brake controller, allowing for convenient adjustment of trailer brakes from within the vehicle.
Priced at $55,450, the 2024 Nissan Armada marks the start of its lineup. Nissan has simplified the trim choices by removing the previous entry-level S grade. This leaves the SV as the base model among the three available trims, accompanied by the SL and the top-tier Platinum grades. You can opt for four-wheel drive on any trim for an additional $3,000. Comparing the Armada’s starting price with its closest rivals reveals its competitive edge. The Chevy Tahoe LS comes closest at $56,200, while the base Toyota Sequoia begins at $60,875. Only the Ford Expedition XL, priced at $54,555, manages to slip under the Armada’s starting price.

Upscale Cabin
Each Armada model features three-row seating, accommodating either seven or eight passengers depending on the configuration chosen. While the third row proves useful for accommodating children, its legroom of 28.4 inches barely exceeds that of the Toyota Sequoia (28.1 inches), placing it last among its close competitors.
In contrast, the Ford Expedition offers 36.1 inches, and the Chevy Tahoe provides 34.9 inches. Optionally available second-row captain’s chairs enhance comfort and ease of access to the third row. However, the cargo space behind the third row measures at 16.5 cubic feet, smaller than competing SUVs in this class, such as the Tahoe with 25.5 cubic feet and the Ford Expedition with 20.9 cubic feet.
Notably, the Armada is only available in a single regular length, unlike its rivals from Chevy, Ford, GMC, and even Jeep, which offer longer versions. Although our interior specifications focus on the regular-length models of these large SUVs, the extended versions offer even greater passenger and cargo capacity.
Despite its modest starting price, the Armada impresses with its interior quality, resembling its luxurious counterpart, the Infiniti QX80. The top Platinum trim competes with pricier luxury SUVs, boasting features like quilted leather seats, a rear entertainment system, and power-folding and reclining third-row seats.
Stylish Exterior
As the largest SUV in Nissan’s lineup, the Armada boasts a timeless, sophisticated look, further enhanced by the SL’s Midnight Edition with its tasteful black accents.
In terms of overall length, the regular-length SUVs in this category are closely matched.
