Zimbabwe’s Madam Boss found herself rubbing shoulders with some of the biggest stars in US showbiz at Sunday’s BET Awards, with the comedienne seen mingling and interviewing the likes of Will Smith, Usher Raymond, Joe Thomas and Ray J.
Other stars that Madam Boss was pictured with included rapper TI and singer-cum-actress Chloe Bailey.
“Dreams do come true,” Madam Boss captioned one video in which she and Smith blew kisses at the camera and gave a shout out to Zimbabweans watching.
“The day I will never forget,” she captioned another series of pictures in which she appeared with with a raft of stars, including South Africa’s Tyla.
It was a momentous night for Usher and Smith, two stars Madam Boss had pleasant exchanges with on a glamorous night.
Usher was given the lifetime achievement award at the ceremony, with the musician using the honour as an opportunity to reflect on his life and career.
“Those moments that become legacy are all about having fun and finding the spark,” the singer said as he took the stage to accept his honor, recalling the early days of his career when he was still struggling to discover his identity in music and battling with abandonment by his father.
“I was trying to make sense of this name that a man gave me that didn’t stick around because he didn’t love me,” Usher mused. “At least that is how I saw it before realizing that you have to have a forgiving heart to understand the pitfalls and hardships of a Black man in America.”
Meanwhile Smith debuted a gospel song in what was his first award show appearance since he infamously slapped Chris Rock at the Oscars.
