The 2024 Kia Sportage Hybrid, as the name suggests, is the hybrid iteration of the brand’s compact SUV. However, it offers more than just hybrid technology. While it certainly boasts improved fuel efficiency, it also delivers enhanced power, quicker acceleration, and maintains ample storage and excellent drivability. In essence, this sleek and sophisticated SUV stands out as one of the top choices among small SUVs available in 2024.

For 2024, the Sportage Hybrid, introduced as part of the fifth generation in 2023, sees minimal changes. New standard features include projector-type LED headlights and rear seat-mounted airbags, but overall, there are no significant updates.

The 2024 Kia Sportage Hybrid begins at $28,290 for the base LX trim with FWD. Stepping up to the mid-range EX trim costs $31,990, while the top-tier SX Prestige model starts at $37,190. AWD is available for $1,800 extra on the LX trim and comes standard on the other two trims. Comparing to the gas-only model, the Sportage Hybrid in the popular EX trim is approximately $3,000 more expensive.

Our reviewers have collectively praised the interior of the Kia Sportage for its appealing blend of sportiness, luxury, and technology.

At first glance, the dual 12.3-inch digital displays encased beneath a curved glass surface grab attention, setting the stage for what lies beyond. Angular air vents surrounding the curved display contribute to its sleek, technical aesthetic.

The asymmetrical center console design places essential buttons and controls conveniently within the driver’s reach.

Additionally, the cupholder area serves a dual purpose by transforming into an extra bin when not in use, offering space for larger items. While we appreciate the dual-purpose digital control panel concept, the knob that adjusts volume or temperature depending on the mode adds a slight cognitive load.

In terms of practicality, rear legroom measures an impressive 41.3 inches, ranking among the best in its class. Kia boasts class-leading cargo room with 39.5 cubic feet of space behind the split-folding rear seats, comparable to the non-hybrid Sportage. Folding down the rear seats further expands the cargo hold to a cavernous 73.7 cubic feet.

Efficient Hybrid Powertrain

With an impressive fuel economy rating of up to 43 combined mpg, the Kia Sportage Hybrid surpasses its non-hybrid counterparts by 53 percent in efficiency. Additionally, it boasts a class-leading 227 horsepower rating.

Blind-Spot View Monitor

Enhancing safety during lane changes, the Blind-Spot View Monitor of the Sportage Hybrid displays a video image of the rear three-quarter blind spot upon activating the turn signal. This feature is complemented by the Blind-Spot Collision-Avoidance Assist, which automatically applies brakes to prevent the vehicle from changing lanes into occupied areas.

Spacious Interior

Offering ample rear-seat space and a generous cargo hold, the Sportage Hybrid stands out as one of the most spacious SUVs in its class.

The hybrid powertrain featured in the Sportage Hybrid boasts industry-leading horsepower and delivers exceptional fuel efficiency.
