Princess Anne is in hospital today after suffering ‘minor injuries and concussion’ at her home on the Gatcombe Park estate where it is believed she was kicked by a horse.
Buckingham Palace announced the Princess Royal is being kept in hospital under observation following an incident last night which happened she walked in the grounds. She is expected to make a full recovery.
It means the senior royal will miss several royal engagements this week, including the state banquet for the Japanese State Visit on Tuesday and a visit to Canada.

Princess Anne has been injured by a horse and taken to hospital where she is being treated for concussion and minor injuries to her head today.

- Anne’s husband, Vice Admiral Sir Tim Laurence, and her children Zara Tindall and Peter Phillips, were all on the estate at the time she was injured.
- Prime Minister Rishi Sunak and Labour leader Sir Keir Starmer both briefly broke away from campaigning to wish the senior royal a speedy recovery.

Princess Anne is currently recovering at Bristol Southmead NHS hospital, MailOnline reporter Mark Duell reports.
Southmead Hospital is part of the North Bristol NHS Trust and has a number of major specialities, including neuroscience.
The Institute of Neurosciences is based in the hospital’s Brunel building and is a regional centre providing specialised services for a wide spectrum of neurological conditions.
Southmead Hospital is also home to the only adult major trauma centre (MTC) in the The Severn Major Trauma Network (SMTN).
The centre works alongside six other units based across the South West
