These days, if you’re looking for a sporty Cadillac sedan with internal combustion under the hood, the Cadillac CT4 and Cadillac CT5 are solid options, especially the V-Series models. However, for bargain hunters, there are arguably even better options on the used market, including the Cadillac CTS V-Sport. In fact, the Cadillac CTS V-Sport has quietly become a stellar deal on the luxury used sport sedan market.

The Cadillac CTS V-Sport.

As of this writing, there are currently 29 examples of the Cadillac CTS V-Sport available nationwide on Autotrader. Some high-mile examples are going for less than $20,000, while clean, low-mile, well-optioned models are available for well under $40,000.

One particular used 2019 Cadillac CTS V-Sport available from Classic Acura in Beaumont, Texas is priced at $29,994, and shows less than 60,000 miles on the clock, with a Crystal White Tricoat exterior and Jet Black interior with leather seating surfaces and Natural Sapele wood trim. Highlights include cooled front seats, a leather steering wheel, lane departure warning, lane keeping assist, automatic parking, and a set of aftermarket wheels.

Meanwhile, the Cadillac CT5-V, offered as the indirect successor to the Cadillac CTS V-Sport, starts at $52,890, including destination freight charge. The CT5-V is less powerful than the CTS V-Sport, cradling the twin-turbocharged 3.0L V6 LGY gasoline engine, rated at 360 horsepower and 405 pound-feet of torque. Compare that to the CTS V-Sport, which cradles the twin-turbocharged 3.6L V6 LF3 rated at 420 horsepower and 430 pound-feet of torque.

The Cadillac CTS V-Sport was roundly praised by critics, yet largely ignored by buyers. The 2014 CTS secured MotorTrend’s Car of the Year award largely based on the publication’s experience in the V-Sport, while the CTS V-Sport also secured a spot on Car & Driver’s 10Best list. Road & Track was also quite fond of the CTS V-Sport, even calling the car “criminally overlooked.” For those readers who may be unaware, the CTS V-Sport features sport-tuned suspension, Brembo brakes, an electronic limited-slip differential, and rides on the GM Alpha platform.
