NEWARK, NJ –
Chris Brown found himself stuck in the air during a concert on his 11:11 Tour in New Jersey and had to be rescued by event staff.
While suspended above the crowd as he performed “Under the Influence” on Wednesday (June 12), Breezy’s wire act ran into a hitch, leaving him dangling from the ceiling for several minutes.
Though appearing visibly annoyed at the malfunction, the R&B singer did not let it interrupt his performance and he continued to perform while signaling to event staff that he needed assistance.
A ladder was then brought on stage and Brown was helped down by the staff, though he appeared to exchange words with one of the workers after he was back on his feet.
Performing above the crowd has been a staple of Chris Brown’s live shows and he often sings past hits such as “Take Me Down” and “Wet the Bed.”
Brown reportedly addressed the technical malfunction later in the show, appearing angry that it happened but also joking about getting stuck.
The 35-year-old was recently involved in another kind of concert drama when he was blamed for Quavo performing in front of a mostly empty arena in Connecticut in April.
The low attendance for such a big artist led to a wild conspiracy theory that Brown was behind the event given his feud with the Migos rapper, which spawned diss songs such as “Tender,”“Weakest Link” and “Over Hoes & Bitches.”
Despite having no evidence, many fans have speculated that Breezy had snapped up tickets to the concert so that Quavo would perform in a near-empty arena.
One social media user commented: “Chris Brown evil for this, apparently he bought all the tickets at the Quavo concert just so the crowd is empty.”
Neither Brown nor Quavo have commented on the concert or the rumors, and their beef has seemingly fizzled out since then.
