GAMERANT VIDEO OF THE DAY

An Elden Ring player recently discovered a hidden passage in the game’s Shadow of the Erdtree expansion, which is located in the Shadow Keep and can only be opened using the “O Mother” gesture. Elden Ring: Shadow of the Erdtree is a meaty DLC, adding so many secrets to FromSoftware’s open-world game that gamers are still uncovering every nook and cranny in the new region.

Released in 2022, Elden Ring is FromSoftware’s most successful game yet. Taking the basic Dark Souls formula and inserting it into an open-world proved to be an incredibly popular move, and Elden Ring has managed to sell over 25 million copies so far. With the new DLC released a few days ago, gamers returned to Elden Ring, and they are already discovering tons of secrets.

The difficulty of Elden Ring’s Shadow of the Erdtree DLC is not the only thing players are unhappy with, as crafting books areleaving many frustrated.

A very well-hidden Elden Ring secret uncovered by a player called Sesmu is a secret passage in the Shadow Keep, one of the Legacy Dungeons in Elden Ring: Shadow of the Erdtree. The Shadow Keep is a huge area, and this secret passage requires some work to find. To reach the place where the secret passage is located, gamers need to enter the Shadow Keep’s Church District, then jump into a building that has arcs shaped like an X. After going down an elevator, and they will finally be able to access the Shadow Keep’s back gate.

On top of all the work to find the place described by Sesmu in the post, gamers still need to use the “O Mother” gesture to open the passage. To gain access to this Elden Ring gesture, which is exclusive to the DLC, gamers need to visit the Bonny Village Site of Grace, jump over a broken bridge in the east, cross a functional wooden bridge, and then head north until they see a headless statue. This statue will be holding the item that gives the player the “O Mother” emote.
