Elizabeth Olsen’s movie ‘Scarlet Witch’ is expected to be released early this year
Rumors hint at a potential Scarlet Witch film in the works at Marvel Studios that might be announced this year.
The last sighting of Elizabeth Olsen as her iconic character of Wanda Maximoff in the MCU was back in 2022 in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, where she supposedly was seen for the last time in the franchise. Since then, rumors have been floating around that claimed that the character wasn’t done in the MCU just yet as she will make her reappearance in the future.
But since a couple of weeks ago, there have been rumors that suggest that there might be a chance Olsen could make a comeback in the cinematic universe with the upcoming Agatha: Darkhiold Diaries and a soon-to-be-announced solo film. It seems like the studio is aching to bring the character back despite the actress having some hot takes on the company in the past.
Towards the end of Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, it seemed like the end of Elizabeth Olsen as Wanda Maximoff came to an end with her supposed death in the film. But with the announcement of the release of Agatha: Darkhold Diaries officially being made, there had been reports of a potential return of the actress as Scarlet Witch in the franchise in her solo film in the future.
With the recent reports of several upcoming films from the cinematic juggernaut being officially announced by Marvel Studios in recent weeks and months, new rumors surrounding a solo Scarlet Witch film were also being circulated, which will be announced at the official D23 Expo.
It’s being speculated that along with the cast of the upcoming Fantastic Four reboot making their public appearance at the event, the project will finally be revealed to the public.
So far, these rumors suggest that the film in conversation will be part of the events towards the end of Phase 6, and the return of Maximoff will be catalyzed through the events of Agatha: Darkhold Diaries.
While we may have no major plot details as to how this might happen if the comics are to be believed, Scarlet Witch was a big part of the X-Men, which is the superhero team that Marvel Studios is trying to put more emphasis on, leading to perfect opportunity to bring her back.
Despite the company’s efforts to line everything perfectly for her return to the MCU, it’s worth mentioning that Olsen had something to say about Marvel Studios that might be viewed as unsavory.
