Following the release of the trailer for Venom: The Last Dance a few days ago, fans have been left wondering whether there will be a connection to Spider-Man 4. There might be an explanation for this.
Fans are ecstatic over the new Venom trailer. Sony has been meticulously working on bringing Venom back for one last time. However, after the crossover between Marvel and Sony for Spider-Man: No Way Home, fans are wondering if something similar will happen in Venom 3. While the trailer suggests otherwise, some fans believe they have a theory that could bridge the two franchises once again.
While many are buzzing over the trailer, some fans have taken to social media to discuss the possibility of another Venom/Spider-Man crossover. A Redditor, u/Ok-Barnacle5285, explained that there is still a chance for Venom 3 and Spider-Man 4 to be connected, but not as previously expected. They believe that the outcomes of Venom will drive the plot of Spider-Man, eventually leading to one of the variants in the MCU timeline fusing with his Spidey suit, thus creating the Symbiote Black suit.
As Eddie Brock was briefly featured in the post-credits scene of No Way Home and eventually brought back to his universe, fans speculated he would appear as the main villain in Spider-Man 4. However, after seeing the latest Venom trailer and hearing Tom Hardy state that this will be the final Venom movie (as the title suggests), it seems unlikely that Venom, as we know him, will appear again. Despite this, the small piece of the Venom symbiote left in the MCU still gives some hope for this narrative. Redditor u/Ok-Barnacle5285 theorizes that Venom: The Last Dance has deeper implications than initially thought. They propose that Brock will sacrifice himself for Venom at the end of the movie. This act will somehow allow Venom to connect with the symbiote remnants left behind, including the one in the MCU timeline. According to this theory, Venom now in the MCU will look up “Eddie Brock” in New York City and discover a journalist with the same name, leading him to seek out this new Eddie Brock.
Here is where, according to this theory, Venom connects to Spider-Man 4. The next Spider-Man movie would pick up where No Way Home ended, with Peter Parker settling into his new life. In this life he is a broke college student working as a freelance photographer, selling pictures of Spider-Man (reminiscent of Sony’s previous Spider-Man movies). The movie would then tease Venom’s integration into the MCU by showing the symbiote entering Peter’s room and fusing with his suit. While this theory is intriguing, many fans are skeptical. The doubt does not stem from the idea itself but from a lack of faith in Sony’s willingness or ability to execute such a storyline. Conversely, some fans believe there won’t be any Spider-Man connections at all. We will have to wait and see if this theory holds true once Venom: The Last Dance is released.
