H’orrifying moment world’s strongest man ‘pass’ed out’ while leg pressing 1,000kg

The world’s strongest man monicker is no joke when you’re leg pressing 1,000kg.

But what is also no laughing matter is when lifters push themselves a bit too far, to the point of passing out.

That’s what Eddie Hall did a few years ago back when he was competing.

“I’m going to go for 1,000 kilos, which is the heaviest I’ve ever done on this machine,” he said in the video, shared to his YouTube channel Eddie Hall The Beast.

If you’re unaware just how heavy 1,000kg is, it’s the equivalent to a great white shark, a polar bear or a crocodile.

It really does put my 100kg leg press to shame.

Anyway, in the video, Hall starts to slowly put more weight on. He stops at one point to say: “I soiled meself. You smell it?”

But nothing can stop the Staffordshire native, who carries on, leg pressing his target weight after taking a quick break to clean up after himself.

He then suddenly goes quiet for a moment, his head dropping to the side. A bit worrying? Nope, next he wakes up, casually asking: “Did I black out?”

It should go without saying, but we definitely don’t condone lifting weights so heavy that you pass out.Play

Now, it’s not Eddie’s first time putting his health at risk for the sake of lifting weights.

Back in 2016, The Beast – as he’s affectionately known – said he ‘almost died’.

Then 28, Hall was the first man to life half a tonne at the First Direct Arena in Leeds. But immediately after, he collapsed, with blood vessels in his head bursting.

Speaking to the Yorkshire Evening Post at the time, he said: “That nearly killed me. The pressure on my body was surreal. I passed out after. I had nose bleeds. It’s not healthy doing something like that.

“But I’ve done it. I’m sure it will be in the history books for a very long time.

“I don’t want to do it again but if it comes to the point where somebody breaks it, hell…I may just do.

“It’s that great feeling, Like the first man on the moon, the first man to run a mile in under four minutes. And now I’m the first to deadlift half a ton. It’s history and I’m very proud to be a part of it.”

Recently, Hall made his MMA debut in somewhat unconventional circumstances.

Last night (7 June), he stepped into the octagon for a World Freak Fight League event at King George’s Hall in Blackburn.

Going up against the former World’s Strongest Man were TikToking brothers, Jamil and Jamel Neffati.

The first brother recovered from his suplex and staggered back into the fight, only to be put right out of it again as he was KO’d by Hall with just one punch.

From there, the rest of the fight was a formality, and of course, the win went to Hall.
