Elden Ring is the peak of Soulslike games and FromSoftware has more in store for the players to see for the upcoming expansion. First looks are bound to be released and the gaming community caught their first glimpse of a boss fight in Shadow of the Erdtree and it is impressive.

The developers know the importance of leaving a good first impression and the gaming community was blown away by a fraction of what they have in store. Most players would want to savor the experience by avoiding entering spoiler territory but the preview was too good to pass up.

Shadow of the Erdtree Is Living up to the Elden Ring Hype

FromSoftware has been slowly building up hype by releasing promo art and character designs of new enemy types for the upcoming Elden Ring expansion. Concept art is enough to get the fans excited but the developers also shared a brief clip of gameplay featuring a new boss for the cherry on top.

The clip showcases a plethora of new gear and weapons players will have access to upon entering the new map. The gaming community can expect the developers to throw the entire kitchen sink of new content given the fact that Shadow of the Erdtree is the only expansion that was planned.

It can be difficult to look the other way knowing there is something incredible being shared. The developers were wise enough to show enough of what they knew the fans were after but didn’t give anything major away like story beats.

There is no telling what other new content the developers are holding onto and would prefer the players to discover them in their travels. The new gear and equipment could only be a fraction of what the team has learned from the base game and made some improvements.

Elden Ring Is the Pinnacle of the Soulslike Genre

The developers applied everything they have learned throughout the years into the production of the base game and have reaped the benefits from it. The team even managed to honor and pay homage to other franchises like Bloodborne and the gaming community believes the recently shared enemy design is a direct reference to it.

The developers have already outlined the fundamentals of a Soulslike game. Each title the team has worked on always reintroduces a concept that resonated well with the community, enhancing it with some improvements.

FromSoftware found success in this formula and rather than go the other direction for something ambitious, the team decided to build upon what was working. New equipment and weapons are enough to get the gaming community excited and interested to dive back in for some more.

Perhaps the more skilled players will have little to no trouble handling the new omnipotent foes the developers have designed for the expansion and make it look like a walk in the park.
