‘I walked in on my husband showering – what I saw left me convinced he’s cheating’

A woman has taken to social media to ask for advice after she walked in on her husband in the shower and thought his behaviour seemed ‘shady’ – but people think she’s overreacting

A woman is convinced her husband is cheating and it’s all down to his dodgy behaviour in the shower.

Speaking anonymously on Reddit, the woman recounted how she felt sick to her stomach when she recently walked in on her hubby in the shower and found him unexpectedly on his phone and “looked suspicious”. She doesn’t know what he was gawping, but she’s convinced he was up to no good.

When she came into the bathroom, her husband “looked shocked” but tried to play it cool, claiming: “I was just about to text you to come in.”

But she was not convinced and left the bathroom. When her hubby was done washing, he said she could “look in his phone”, apparently to show he wasn’t messaging other women or looking at anything inappropriate. But the gesture hasn’t eased her mind.

In her post, she penned: “Our conversation went back and forth, my points being if he was texting me to come in why did he look so shocked when I did? Why didn’t he tell me to come into the shower when he went? Why didn’t he just yell out to come in?

“He began raising his voice saying he’s sick of arguments like this, but we’ve never had arguments like this before. He did agree it looked shady but then would go back to looking guilty by getting angry and saying he is sick of me making these assumptions.

“My gut is telling me there’s something more to it, but my brain is saying he’s married to you and has never been disloyal before. He never takes his phone around the house with him, but decided to take it to the shower? But has also left it right in front of me to look at if I choose.”

Fellow Reddit users tried their best to calm the woman’s fears, with many of them suggesting that if he was going to cheat on her, there were better opportunities than the shower.

One user commented: “Why would he wait to get caught cheating on his phone in the shower when there are so many other opportunities? You’re overthinking this.”

Another chimed in: “I would be surprised if I was just about to text someone and they appeared like magic! It’s definitely happened to me before, so that’s a weird thing to be suspicious about.”

Someone else commented: “Unless you have an actual reason not to trust him, this is silly. He could’ve been watching videos or playing a game for all you know. His behaviour was a little suspicious by the way you’re describing it, but I have a feeling his side of the story would sound a lot different.”
