A veteran adult star who has appeared in thousands of racy films says he has made a fortune from his work, but it’s ruined his chance of having a ‘normal’ relationship

A male sex worker who has appeared in over 2,500 adult productions says his career has come at a cost to his personal life.

Tommy Gunn told podcaster Holly Randall that his relationships with women have been ruined by his job.

Tommy, 57, explained that, to him, the porn industry is like a poker game. He explained: “You’ve got to put your ante in – that money is to match everyone else but your buy-in is your personal life and your intimacy. That’s what you’re going to sacrifice.”

He was married before getting involved in the adult industry and then married a second time to a fellow porn star. But keeping jealousy out of the picture when you’re having sex with other women for money is virtually impossible, Tommy claimed.

He explained: “I had this feeling at one point I said ’Is this is this going to be the right decision? I’m actually taking this action between two people which should be cherished… is this going to be a good idea to leverage that as a means of an income?’

“For me to wake up and say ‘Aright sweetheart? I’m going to kiss you and then go and have sex with a stranger,’ that’s kind of strange.”

Some of his girlfriends, Tommy says, want to “leave their mark on him” before he goes to work in the morning. He continued: “I’ve had them say ‘I want you to have sex with me before you go to work,’ because in their psychology it’s marking their territory.”

He added: “That’s not conducive for me. If I was a boxer or something, why would I box the day before I got a big box match coming up?” He adds that the same is true the other way around, if he’s dating someone who is also in the porn industry, he wouldn’t want to tire them out before a big shoot.

“The last thing I want you to do, honey, is go to work and be sore and worn out cuz that’s what happens. For a guy or girl it’s the same – even though we’re designed differently it’s the same friction at the end of the day.”

Age is increasingly a factor when it comes to sustaining both a flourishing porn career and his personal love-life. He added: “I told one girlfriend ‘Look I want you to realise something,’ she was 22 at the time and I was 48. I said ‘I’m never going to cheat on you, ever.’ She says ‘How do you know that?’ And I said ‘I don’t have the energy’.”
