Last month, Cadillac ambassador and tennis star Frances Tiafoe was spotted checking out a Cadillac Celestiq painted in the striking Habanero paint color. Now, TV personality and comedian Jay Leno and Global Cadillac Vice President John Roth were captured observing another Celestiq at the 2023 Audrain Newport Concours and Motor Week in Rhode Island.
In a post to social media, Roth explained that he spent some time discussing Cadillac history and products with Leno, going so far as to brave the rain. Notably, this Celestiq is painted in the Boysenberry Matte shade, one of 200 available named paint colors. Of course, the halo vehicle can also be had in any custom color-match hue.
It’s worth noting that Roth spent the entire weekend at the event showcasing Cadillac’s EV lineup, which includes the Cadillac Lyriq, Cadillac Escalade IQ, and the aforementioned Cadillac Celestiq.
As a reminder, the Cadillac Celestiq is positioned as the pinnacle of the Cadillac – and for that matter, GM – lineup. To this end, the uber-luxury sedan can be customized to the ends of the Earth for customers who desire a one-of-one vehicle.
Of course, this ideal applies to the interior compartment, which features hand-finished trim pieces throughout the cabin. A 55-inch coast-to-coast center screen is only one of five high-definition displays found throughout the vehicle, as rear-seat passengers get their own advanced 12.6-inch-diagonal displays. Meanwhile, above the occupants’ heads sits an all-glass roof panel using Suspended Particle Device (SPD) to allow variable transmission of sunlight into the cabin.
Under the skin, the Celestiq rides on the GM BEV3 platform, and features a 111 kWh battery pack to power an advanced all-wheel drivetrain. Total system output is rated at a GM-estimated 600 horsepower and 640 pound-feet of torque, which yields a claimed 0-60 acceleration time of 3.8 seconds.
Production is slated to commence at the GM Global Technical Center in Michigan in December 2023, with availability by waitlist only. In addition, Celestiq units will be built by hand, and The General expects that only two vehicles will be built per day.
