MFR Souls have denied claims they are planning to split up to pursue solo careers.
The two are one of Mzansi’s most celebrated amapiano music duos founded in 2012 by Tumelo Nedondwe and Tumelo Mabe, both of whom are DJs and producers from Katlehong, Ekurhuleni.
Tumelo Mabe, aka Force, recently released an EP titled Force Reloaded – Hurricane Selection vol.1, and that sparked the rumours of the duo’s possible split.
Speaking to TshisaLIVE, Force said everything is well between him and Tumelo Nedondwe, aka Maero.
“This thing is blown out of proportion. We are not splitting or planning to. I decided to drop my mixtape and we both contributed towards it. He has his own mixtape which I contributed to. If the mixtape platform works it’s going to work for both of us”, he said.
When TshisaLIVE asked Maero about the status of amapiano in the country, he said: “The genre has a lot of subgenres, but at the moment it is growing around the globe. I’m happy to be among the pioneers of the genre.
” Amapiano is the future. Force and I are busy pushing our mixtapes movement. There’s a lot to offer within the genre.”
