Clare Bailey is the wife of Dr Michael Mosley, who is now confirmed to have died after rescue teams found a body on the Greek island of Symi five days after she reported the TV medic missing.

Bailey, who is also a doctor, was on holiday with her husband when the tragedy occurred.

The GP, who – like her husband – works in nutrition and dietetics, specialises in weight loss and helping people to reduce their blood sugars and put diabetes into remission.

The Fast 800 books were among the several projects Bailey worked on with her late husband in a professional relationship she described as “a real pleasure”.

After the death of her beloved husband was confirmed, she issued a heart-breaking tribute to Mosley, describing him as a “wonderful, funny, kind and brilliant husband”.

She said: “I don’t know quite where to being with tis. It’s devastating to have lost Michael, my wonderful, funny, kind and brilliant husband.

“We had an incredibly lucky life together. We loved each other very much and were so happy together.”

Bailey made the tribute just days after she insisted her family “will not lose hope” as the search for the This Morning doctor was three days in.

She added that the time since he had disappeared, were “the longest and most unbearable days for myself and my children.”

The couple shared a long and strong marriage, after first meeting on Mosley’s first day at UCL Medical School in 1980, which he enrolled in after studying philosophy, politics and economics at New College, Oxford.

Speaking to Sussex Living magazine Mosley recalled: “100 of us in the year and the Dean said four of you will marry, and I met Clare then.”

The couple married ins 1987 and went on to live in Buckinghamshire, in a property built by the Cadbury family in 1905 and have four children, three sons and a daughter, Dan, Alex and Jack, and their daughter is Kate.

Bailey was hugely influential over Mosley’s eating habits, as they both likened him to a ‘Labrador’ and her to a ‘Grey Hound’, reports The Mirror.

Mosley once described that his wife and daughter shared characteristics. He told the Sydney Morning Herald: “Our daughter Kate is exactly like her mother — sociable and very likeable.”
