Mlindo: “I think I experienced a bit of depression” because of one incident

The musician has been involved in multiple accidents and had a public fight with amapiano pioneer, DJ Maphorisa. However, he has picked himself up and is back with a good attitude.

The 26-year-old, whose real name is Lindokuhle Mgedezi, recently announced his return.

“There’re a lot of things I wanted to update you on. It hasn’t been a good time for me,” he said.

“I’ve had a lot of accidents and didn’t speak to anyone. I think I experienced a bit of depression. I recorded a lot of music and wanted to release it, but couldn’t. It’s been hard trending every day for all the wrong reasons.”

Fans on social media suggested the accidents were a sign that he needed to ukuthwasa. But Mlindo said he would know if he needed to.

“I wasn’t aware people had been suggesting this. I’m sure I’ll know if I have to do it. These are false rumours.”

He said he and Maphorisa have kissed and made up. Maphorisa earlier accused Mlindo of stabbing him in the back after he got him into the music industry.

“A lot has happened. Looking at everything, I’ve learned a lot from the past and am grateful for the experience. I appreciate DJ Maphorisa and respect him,” he said.

Mlindo said he and Maphorisa have been working together.

“We worked on a song called Umuzi Wethu, which is one of my singles that people should look out for it. It’s also one of my favourites.”

Mlindo said the new single will be released today, (Friday, 1 July), along with another track, Jumaima, featuring Ishmael. He will release his new album, Lindokuhle, end of July.
