Nicki Minaj seems to be looking on the bright side, despite her chaotic weekend
Nicki Minaj has broken her silence following her shock arrest in Amsterdam which derailed the start of the UK leg of her Pink Friday 2 World Tour at the last minute.
The rapper, 41, was supposed to perform at the Co-op Live in Manchester on Saturday (25 May), but it was called off at the eleventh hour when she was detained at Schiphol Airport.
Minaj live-streamed her arrest on Instagram, which occurred shortly after she touched down in Amsterdam.
Dutch police said that a 41-year-old woman had been arrested there after allegedly trying to take soft drugs to another country, according to Sky News.

In her social media posts, Minaj said that police at the airport had ‘found weed’ and that her security team had said it belonged to them and not her.
The musician later announced on social media in the early hours of Sunday (26 May) morning that she’d finally made it to her hotel in Manchester, having spent ‘5-6 hours’ in a cell in Amsterdam.
But she couldn’t hang about for too long as she then had to head to Birmingham for a gig the following day.
The star seemed to address the chaotic weekend she had dealt with and the subsequent criticism while conversing with fans during her show on Sunday.
Videos of Minaj circulating on social media show her shouting: “Guess who’s still winning, bi**ch!!!”
Which is one way to look at it, I suppose.
She also added: “I love you… and I’m so sorry.”
The rapper has promised her Manchester fans, who were left furious by the last minute cancellation, that she is ‘working non-stop’ to get another show rescheduled.
Minaj is said to be desperate to ‘make it up’ to people who had purchased tickets by setting up another gig.
Thousands of attendees were let into the venue, which experienced a series of major setbacks ahead of its opening, despite the music star being stuck in custody in Amsterdam.

She was eventually let go by police shortly before 9pm, which was a number of hours after her Manchester show was supposed to kick off.
To somewhat make amends for her lack of performance, Minaj told her ‘Barbz’ fanbase that she was staying in the swanky Stock Exchange Hotel – and set up an impromptu meet and greet just after 1am.
She wrote in a post on X: “To my #GagCityManchester Barbz, I’m going to be on the balcony so if you’re outside I’ll be able to see you & I may come downstairs.
“I’ll be out there for about an hour. Rlly [really] wanted to at least get to see you. But if you’re in bed plz STAY THERE. I’ll update you guys tmrw [tomorrow]. Love you.”
As you can imagine, the streets of Manchester were soon filled with Minaj fans eager to catch a glimpse of the singer.
