Prince William, The Prince of Wales, turns 42 tomorrow, however instead of festivities and jubilent celebrations, the day will be ‘reflective’ and come with a ‘somber’ tone
Familial pressures are expected to mar Prince William’s birthday celebrations, a royal expert has said.
The future King of England turns 42 tomorrow, Friday, June 21, and the day would be a cause for celebrations in better times, celebrated with friends, members of the Royal Family, and of course George, Charlotte and Louis.
However, it’s expected the occasion will come with a solemn tone, as Kate continues to battle cancer.

Royal commentator Richard Fitzwilliams believes The Prince of Wales’ birthday will be “a reflective day” with “sombre” elements to festivities.
The Princess of Wales attended the Trooping of the Colour in her first official duties since announcing her cancer diagnosis and revealed she was making “good progress”.
Despite this, the public were warned that she “wasn’t out of the woods yet” — and this cloud of cancer is likely to hang heavy over the day.
Fitzwilliams said: “Catherine’s successful appearances in Trooping the Colour is a cause for celebration, but she is receiving treatment for cancer and obviously there will be a somber aspect to the celebrations.”
He added: “It will, I suspect, be a day of quiet celebration, depending on how Catherine feels. William is the ideal diplomat and has made a great success of his role as heir to the throne.”
When asked if Wills could expect a call from his little brother to wish him well on the day, or indeed offer support while William cracks on with royal duties as his wife and father step back from public responsibilities as they receive treatment for their respective cancers, Fitzwilliams indicated we would be unlikely to see an olive branch offered any time soon.
He said: “William does not trust his brother and the rift in the royal family continues, exacerbated by the recent contretemps when Prince Harry visited London and said his father was too busy to see him.”
