Disney is known for making some of the most popular animated movies of all time, such as The Little Mermaid and Beauty and the Beast. One of the reasons why their films have become so popular, among both children and adults, is because of how much audiences like the characters.

A lot of Disney’s characters are very cute. Whether it is due to their appearance or personality, the cute characters in these movies become quite popular among fans and are very memorable. Out of all of Disney’s characters, these are, by far, the most adorable.

Updated by Jordan Iacobucci on April 19, 2024: Over 100 years after the studio got its start, Disney continues to churn out new characters that make an impact on audiences. While there are countless adorable characters in Disney’s mythology, some stand out as the cutest of the century.

Olaf Is Cuddly And Love Warm Hugs

Frozen

Frozen introduces one of the funniest animated Disney characters of all time in Josh Gad’s Olaf, an anthropomorphic snowman created by Elsa’s ice powers. Olaf, who counterintuitive dreams of experiencing the bright beautiful weather of summer, joins Anna and Kristoff as they try to reach Elsa and stop the sudden winter.

Olaf is utterly adorable, with an expressive face that betrays his every emotion. Not only is the character well-designed, but he also sports an unmistakably lovable personality, which includes a proclivity to misunderstand matters that seem relatively obvious to everyone else. While he may not be the cutest character in the entire Disney canon, Olaf is certainly one of the studio’s best-loved personalities.

Jack-Jack Is Adorable, But Deadly

The Incredibles

Jack-Jack Parr is the youngest member of the titular superhero family in The Incredibles. An infant during the events of both films, Jack-Jack spends most of the time enjoying the relatively carefree life of an infant. Of course, he isn’t any ordinary baby but rather sports an array of superpowers that make him quite a handful for any babysitter unfortunate enough to be tasked with watching him.

Jack-Jack’s big, expressive eyes and adorable laugh make him one of the most lovable Pixar characters of all time, even if his demon baby form may be off-putting for some viewers. Moreover, the youngest member of the Parr family is lovably unaware of just how dangerous he is, using his vast power set to drive his family members mad.

Bambi Is A Character Worth Fauning Over

Bambi

Bambi rests with his mother in Bambi

There are few characters from Disney’s early years cuter than Bambi. A young faun, Bambi spends much of his time exploring the world with a sense of awe and wonderment as he experiences all the joys of life for the very first time. With a legion of forest friends, Bambi goes on a journey of self-discovery and maturation.

In classic Disney style, however, Bambi’s adorable features are used as an emotional weapon against the audience, who get attached to the faun and his beloved mother in the early stages of the film. As a result, when Bambi’s mother is tragically shot by a hunter, the pain that viewers feel is all the more debilitating, creating one of the saddest deaths in any Disney movie.

Dug The Dog Is Adorably Distractable

On their globe-trotting adventure in Up, Carl Frederickson and wilderness explorer Russell come across an unusual companion in Dug the Dog. To their surprise, the two adventurers discover that Dug is able to communicate with them thanks to his high-tech collar, which translates his thoughts into speech.

There is no faster way to get audiences to fall in love with a new character than to make said character a dog who talks. Not only is Dug physically adorable, but audiences immediately come to love his hilariously distractable personality, as he continuously loses his train of thought when he sees a squirrel.

Baymax Is Designed To Be Friendly

Big Hero 6

Baymax is a friendly robot from Big Hero 6 and is also in the related comics and TV series. Invented by Tadashi Hamada, Baymax was created to heal people. After Tadashi dies, Baymax starts helping his younger brother, Hiro. Along with Tadashi’s friends, they form the titular superhero group.

Hiro would improve Baymax, making it, so he could fight to avenge Tadashi, which brought them closer together. Baymax’s biggest medical save, however, was Hiro’s heart as he helped him carry on with his life after the loss of his brother.

Stitch’s Cuteness Is Out Of This World

Lilo And Stitch

Stitch

Stitch, from the Lilo and Stitch franchise, is another cute Disney character who was brought to life through science. He was the 626th experiment that Jumba made. Unlike Baymax, Stitch was created to hurt others but learned how to be good when he met Lilo.

Stitch can change his appearance, going from being a cute creature, that Lilo thought was a puppy when they first encountered each other, to the form he first had, which has an extra set of arms and antennae. Though many fans think that both appearances are cute, he is much more adorable when he is with his family than when he is fighting.

Piglet Is A Small Character With A Big Heart

Winnie The Pooh

Piglet

Piglet is one of the main characters in the Winnie the Pooh franchise. As one of the kindest and smallest characters in the 100 Acre Wood, he is also the cutest and has even had his own film, Piglet’s Big Movie.

Because he was easily frightened, Piglet never got the recognition for the heroic things he did, and as his friends learned about all the ways he has helped them throughout the film, they understood how helpful he had been, and made it up to him. Piglet is not only one of the cutest characters in the Winnie the Pooh movies but also in the entire Disney canon.

The Puppies Won Over The Radcliffes

101 Dalmatians

True to its title, 101 Dalmatians does not skimp on the sheer number of puppies in this film. This is especially true when audiences are introduced to Cruella DeVil’s domicile, where every inch is covered with adorable puppies.

Although seeing them huddled together watching TV is endearing, their true cuteness comes when they are all escaping the terrible manor. As the puppies fight against the wind, cold, and covering their tracks, they show their bravery – despite only being puppies. Animal lovers are sure to enjoy this older Disney film for its plethora of adorable puppies.

Copper Is A Hound-Dog

The Fox And The Hound

Copper in puppy form, the fox and the hound

Disney’s been relying heavily on sequels and its own formulas in recent years. If the past is any indication, it could be due for another upswing.

Disney has had a lot of animal characters over the years, but none are as cute as Copper at the beginning of The Fox and the Hound, as well as The Fox and the Hound 2. Despite being trained as a hunting dog, Copper became close friends with a fox named Tod, who was also very cute.

The pair of unlikely friends often sneak off to play together, whether it is hide and seek or going for a swim. However, they cannot be friends forever, as Copper was taken away for a few months to learn how to hunt foxes, putting his friendship with Tod to the test in the movie’s second half.

Vanellope Von Schweetz Glitches Into Fans’ Hearts

Wreck-It Ralph

The most adorable Disney character is Vanellope from Wreck-It Ralph. She originally seemed to be a glitch in the Sugar Rush game. Because of this, she was treated terribly by those around her, when all that she wanted to do was race with them.

However, she was actually the princess of Sugar Rush and only appeared to be a glitch because King Candy hacked the game to take her power for himself, resulting in everyone but him forgetting her. After he was defeated, Vanellope became the princess of the game once more but decided to be their president instead. She was also in the movie’s sequel, Ralph Breaks the Internet.

Boo Stole The Hearts Of Humans And Monsters

Monsters Inc.

The events of Monsters Inc. are incited by an adorable toddler that James P. Sullivan affectionately names Boo. Boo wanders into the monster world accidentally when her door is brought back to the Scare Floor for nefarious purposes. Despite this, Boo goes on to show audiences that she is a fun, lovable little girl who has a great capacity for love.

Yet one of the cutest things about Boo is her relationship with Sully. Mike and Sully initially believe Boo is toxic, but as the movie continues, Sully becomes protective of Boo. The two even share a tearful goodbye when it is time for Boo to return to the human world. Boo may have only been a temporary fixture in Monstropolis, but her legacy lives on in the franchise and in Disney’s legacy as a whole as one of the cutest characters in any of the studio’s many films.
