Shebeshxt to appear in court in July

When it rains it pours for Limpopo-based musician Shebeshxt who will reportedly appear in court this July.

Limpopo rapper, Lehlogonolo “Shebeshxt” Chauke’s problems are reportedly piling up following his daughter’s passing.

SHEBESHXT TO APPEAR IN COURT?

Sunday World reports that Shebeshxt is expected to appear in court in July for a separate incident.

Chauke is reportedly scheduled to appear at the Lebowakgomo Magistrate’s Court for a 2022 case.

Mashudu Malabi-Dzhangi, who is Limpopo’s National Prosecuting Authority (NPA) spokesperson says the rapper is currently out on bail and will be in court for trial.

“The matter is set down for plea and trial for 11 July 2024 at the Lebowakgomo regional court D,” adds Malabi-Dzhangi.

Malabi-Dzhangi previously revealed to the publication that a case was opened against Chauke after he allegedly stabbed a man in Lebowakgomo.

Limpopo Chronicle reported in August 2023 that Chauke was granted bail by the Lebowakgomo Magistrate’s Court after getting arrested in April 2023.

His charges varied from assault, attempted murder and discharge of a firearm. It’s alleged he fired four shots in the air at a family home in Ga-Mamaola Village, Limpopo.

The publication adds that when that incident occurred, he was out on bail in another matter of assault and his bail was later revoked.

“On the second incident (10 April 2023) the accused discharged a firearm at another family residence when he went to look for a member of that family. When he was informed that the person he was looking for was not there, he discharged his firearm four times upwards,” the NPA said at the time.

The South African reached out to Chauke’s lawyer, Lot Ramusi for a comment on Saturday. We will give an update as soon as possible.

Chauke’s lawyer, Lot Ramusi confirmed to the publication that the rapper will attend her funeral service today following special arrangements with the hospital where he is being treated.

Ramusi also said the family requested Shebeshxt’s medical team to release him from the hospital on Saturday, so that he can attend his daughter’s funeral.
