Limpopo musician Lehlogonolo Chauke, who is popularly known as Shebeshxt is still in hospital.
MUSICIAN’S FAMILY: ‘WE KEEP PRAYING’
Sunday World reports that rapper Lehlogonolono “Shebeshxt” Chauke underwent multiple surgeries this week following the fatal car crash.
Lot Ramusi, who is the spokesperson for the rapper’s family, tells the publication that Chauke has started communicating again.
“We just keep on praying. He is coming, alright. He is going through different operations. At least he has started talking again. He started talking properly again on Monday,” said Ramusi.
This comes after Shebeshxt’s mother revealed that her son suffered a broken leg, abdominal injuries, and head injuries.
Ramusi adds that the family hasn’t decided if there will be a public burial for his daughter, Onthatile Chuene.
“The family is aware that the country has been supporting them and that the people want to come to the funeral. But this will be determined by the family”.
Ramusi also reveals that the burial date has not been confirmed. Because the family is waiting to hear from the rapper’s doctors on whether he would be able to attend.”
SHEBESHXT: CAR ACCIDENT
Shebeshxt survived a fatal car accident in Limpopo on Saturday, 8 June night, which claimed the life of Onthatile, his nine-year-old daughter.
The Citizen reports that the tragic incident occurred on the R37 road next to Smelters Mine in Limpopo on Saturday.
His Volkswagen Polo collided with a truck and overturned when he was en route to perform at an ANC Siyanqoba Rally celebration concert.
The celebration concert was scheduled to take place at Zone R Park in Lebowakgomo on Sunday, was set to go ahead as planned.
The rapper was heading to Lebowakgomo to drop off Onthatile and the child’s mother at her home.
NORTHERN ACADEMY PAYS TRIBUTE TO ONTHATILE
Shebeshxt’s daughter’s school, Northern Academy paid tribute to her this week following her untimely passing on Saturday, 8 June.
The school revealed in a statement that they are reeling in shock and sadness following the tragic passing of the Grade 3 learner, Onthatile Chuene.
The school has extended its heartfelt condolences to the families and describes Onthatile’s passing as a profound loss.
“It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved Onthatile Chuene, a cherished Grade 3 learner at our school. Onthatile passed away on 8 June 2024, and our entire Northern Academy family is deeply affected by this loss.”
“During her time at Northern Academy, Onthatile was an exemplary learner who always showed great enthusiasm and dedication to her studies. Her bright smile and kind heart will be deeply missed by all who knew her.”
