On July 7, the latest Spider-Man movie Spider-Man: Homecoming starring Tom Holland will officially hit theaters.
Previously, Tom Holland also debuted his role as Spider-Man in the 2016 masterpiece gathering Marvel superheroes, Captain America: Civil War.
However, the 21-year-old actor honestly shared that getting the role of Peter Parker was not easy.
“I went through eight auditions, but the worst thing about it was that after each audition, they told me ‘we’ll let you know the results tomorrow,’” Tom said.
“And during my final audition, I was told to stay in the city of Atlanta because if I got the role, I would have to start filming just two days later. I stayed in Atlanta for two weeks and then returned because I was sure I wouldn’t pass.”
However, everything came very suddenly after Tom returned to London. It wasn’t until 6 weeks later that he found out he was chosen and just 2 days later he climbed on a plane to go to the set of Captain America: Civil War.
“The producer of the movie Kevin Feige called me, saying he had good news that I was going to become Spider-Man,” Tom said.
“Oh I know, Kevin. I saw it on Instagram. I’m 19 years old. “You think I won’t see that announcement?” the future Spider-Man slyly replied.
Besides Tom Holland, Spiderman: Homecoming will also feature young actors such as Michael Keaton, Jon Favreau, Zendaya, Donald Glover, Tyne Daly, Marisa Tomei, and “Iron Man billionaire” Robert Downey Jr.
Although the film has not yet been released, the producers are already thinking about making a sequel, setting the release date for July 5, 2019.
