TV doctor Michael Mosley mysteriously disappeared in Greece, fans express concern over last social media post

This Morning’s Dr Michael Mosley has been missing on the Greek island of Symi since he went for a walk Wednesday, with local police launching a frantic search

Police have said there is “just no trace” of missing telly doc Michael Mosley, who vanished after a walk on a Greek island this week.

This Morning regular Dr Michael Mosley was on holiday with his wife on the Greek island of Symi when he took a walk on Wednesday (June 5) and never returned. His wife Dr Clare Bailey alerted local police after he failed to come home by 7.30pm that evening.

Now, Greek police are ramping up the search for the BBC favourite. Meanwhile, locals have shared their confusion over the situation, saying the area is “nothing dangerous”.

Greek police spokesman Constantina Dimoglidou said: “Any and every attempt to track him down has not produced any result. He may have slipped, tripped, fallen, even been bitten by a snake, remaining injured somewhere.”

They added to the Mail: “There is just no trace of him. None whatsoever. And that means that for us at least, every potential scenario is open and being investigated.”

Meanwhile, a woman in the area that Dr Mosley went missing said: “It’s a quiet place… if you see the map of the area it’s a clear path, it’s nothing dangerous, many people go every day, every few minutes, that’s the reason it’s very strange because it’s a clear path.”

Her thoughts were echoed by a friend of the person Dr Mosley was staying with. Speaking on BBC Radio 5 Live’s Drive show, she said: “It’s a road that sort of heads over the mountain side but it’s been recently widened and there is only one route, so it’s not possible to lose your way.

Before he disappeared, Michael had been chatting about his Radio 4 programme Just One Thing on social media just the day before. But now, his worried fans are flooding the comments with messages of hope.

One anxious follower posted: “Just one thing Please be alive and well.” Another added their voice to the chorus, saying: “Hope you are found safe and well.”

And a third fan also shared that they are praying for his welfare. They wrote: “Praying you are found safe and well.”

In what is now his last update on X – the platform that took over from Twitter – Michael was seen replying to a fan’s message about the health benefits of cold showers, mentioning his wife in the conversation. The fan had reached out, sharing: “Hi Michael hope you read this.

“Thank you so much. I decided to take cold showers after listening to your episode about the benefits of it. Now I’ve had a rotator cuff injury for a while and had to take at least 2 ibuprofen daily. A week after the cold showers, I haven’t had to.”

In a Twitter exchange, Michael responded to a fan’s comment saying: “Delighted to hear it.. while reading your tweet (or is it your X) I had a bad moment when I thought you were going to say you got a rotator cuff injury after falling in the shower…”

Another fan then chimed in: “Heard the Dead Ringers parody? I’d see it as an honour! ” To which Michael retorted: “I have… I’m not convinced I really sound like that but my wife Clare says it is spot on.”

It has emerged that Dr Mosley’s wife, Dr Clare Bailey, 62, raised the alarm with emergency services after her husband disappeared during a coastal walk near St Nicholas Beach on Wednesday. Senior Police Spokesman Constantina Dimoglidou revealed that despite extensive searches starting early this morning, there has been no sign of the missing man.
