James Magoro, who is the Chauke family spokesperson, has revealed that controversial rapper Shebeshxt — real name Lehlogonolo Katlego Chauke – is out of ICU (intensive care unit).

Speaking to TshisaLIVE, Magoro said that the musician will be able to attend his daughter’s funeral on Saturday, 22 June.

The Twerka hitmaker lost his nine-year-old daughter, Onthatile Chuene, during a car accident on the R37 road next to Smelters Mine in Limpopo on 8 June.

The artist was driving with his child, as well as her mother, Kholofelo Chuene, when his Volkswagen Polo crashed into a truck and overturned.

SHEBESHXT UNDERWENT SURGEY ON HIS LEG AND SHOULDER

Following the accident, Kholofelo was hospitalised as sustaining moderate injuries.

Meanwhile, Shebeshxt (who suffered a broken leg, abdominal fracture, and head injuries) was sent to the Netcare Pholoso Hospital after allegedly being left unattended at a public hospital.

“He is still in hospital but he will attend the funeral. We are looking to maybe have people from the hospital assist in bringing him to the funeral and then take him back to the hospital to recover. He still needs to fully recover. He had dislocations. One leg they put steel in and [fitted] a moon boot. The leg is OK. He can step with both [legs],” Magoro said, adding that the Ambulance rapper had undergone surgery.

He further revealed that they have been avoiding speaking to Shebeshxt about Onthatile, as the musician is still grieving.

“We can’t talk to him about his loss because we understand, but he can see his child is not around any more and his partner got hurt. He asked about Kholo’s whereabouts but did not ask about the child because he knows the child did not make it.”

CULPABLE HOMICIDE INVESTIGATION

According to Sunday World, the police have launched a culpable homicide investigation following the car crash.

The publication reports that the police have requested for statements from the musician’s family and partner.

Limpopo police provincial spokesperson Malesela Ledwaba said it was standard procedure to investigate what could have led to the accident.

“The police must adhere to legal protocols and pro- cedures while conducting their investigation to ensure that the rights of all parties involved are respected and that the investigation is conducted fairly and in accordance with the law,” he said.
